My Introduction

A Little About Me

My name is Karolina and I'm 21 years old, I come from Poland but I lived in Ireland for the past 13 years, I'm excited to continue my journey in the Creative Digital Media Course.

My favourite class last semester was web development as it was well organized and I found it the most interesting but also challenging, I feel that I have learned the most from that module compared to other modules.

My biggest accomplishment last semester was making my own website from scratch, as it made me realize how much I have learned in just one year.

My goal for this module is to gain a better understanding of basic game design and to create my own game.

During the summer holidays, I visited many places in Ireland such as Wicklow, Meath and Athlone.

My favourite books are the Harry Potter series.

Here is a photo of my cat when he was still a kitten, his name is Pepe:

  5. Hi karolina!
I loved reading your blog and I’m glad to hear you’re excited to be continuing the course. Straight to the important stuff, your cat is adorable even though I am very much a dog person. I really enjoyed web dev last year too! I think it's crazy how at the start most of us knew nothing about it and now we could all make actual functioning websites in less than a year. Also, I love Harry Potter too, I’m definitely a Hufflepuff, what about you? Hopefully I’ll get to chat to you some more throughout the year, wishing you the best of luck with the rest of the year! :)

I really enjoyed learning more about you. I'm so glad your excited to be back in college. Your cat is so cute. I've always wanted a cat but never actually got to get one. I have to say I was surprised web development was your favourite module last semester as it was my least favourite! I hope your enjoyed your summer travelling around Ireland...hope it wasn't raining all the time! Goodluck with the rest of the year!

  8. Hi Karolina, I enjoyed reading your blog because it wasn't too long!!! Just kidding you kept it quick and to the point, and from reading that I would be able to have a conversation with you no problem because I know now we have similar interests, such as web design, must have been hard to move from Poland to Ireland after living their for your early childhood, great blog keep up the good work.

  9. Hi Karolina, I can relate to what you were saying about web development. I learned the most out of web development too. It was definitely the most challenging module for me out of all. During the break I was visiting places as well. I'm glad to see people making the most out of this current situation. Wicklow is great and so close to Dublin.

  10. Hi Karolina, great introduction blog! I found web development challenging last year to it was like being taught a different language but similar to you when I finished the website by myself it showed how much I learned in the module. You visited so many places different places over the summer, what is Athlone like ? I have never been. I have to admit I say I'm the only person on the planet who hasn't read or seen any harry potter :/ I can't even say I have no time because in lockdown. Best of luck with this semester -Niamh

  13. Hi Karolina
First off that cat is adorable,I myself have a dog named Rio, I have to say I was not a fan of web design, mostly because I took this course so in the future I could make logos, posters and the like not websites. Wow you went all over the only places I'v gone to out side of Dublin are disneyland paris when I was little.

  14. Hi Karolina! My favourite module was web development too, It was a huge stressful project but it made it all worth it when I submitted. I didn't go anywhere during the summer holidays bar Galway before the lockdown and I found it to be such a beautiful place. Wicklow is probably my favourite place to go to in Ireland because it's so close yet it's still amazing. BTW your cat is the most cutest thing i've ever seen and i'm glad he has you as his parent! - Anna Zurawska

  15. Hi Karolina,

I've come from Lithuania and I've live here for around 15 years so we're kinda on the same boat. I think first year was pretty amazing with all the different stuff we learned such as making the website and all the stuff we learned for photography though the second semester was a little rough for all of us.

  16. Hi Karolina,
Just finished up reading your introduction and it's really great to know more about you. I also loved web development last year and creating our own website was a great experience but doing the website during lockdown increased the difficulty but in the end I managed to complete it. Anyway best of luck.
